Florida Law Firm Lydecker Grows with Nine New Associates, Nearly 9,000 Additional Sq. Ft. in Office Space

Firm has grown by more than 80% in past four years

Florida law firm Lydecker continues its growth trajectory, adding nine new associates and 8,853 square feet to its existing office space at 1221 Brickell Avenue, bringing the firm’s total square footage to 31,565. These additions support Lydecker’s expansion over the past four years, a period in which the firm has grown by more than 80 percent, from 40 attorneys to 75 today. The new associates will furtherstrengthen the firm’s key practice areas including Complex Commercial Litigation, Insurance Defense, and Labor & Employment.

New associates joining the firm’s Miami office are as follows:

Karen O’Connor centers her practice on Labor & Employment, Commercial Litigation, and Administrative and Regulatory Litigation. She received a Juris Doctorate from the Franklin Pierce Law Center and a Bachelor’s of Arts from the University of Delaware.

Kirsten Wegel practices civil litigation with an emphasis on commercial litigation. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Florida International University and a B.A Degree of Science from American University.

Jonathan Newberg specializes in complex commercial and construction litigation. Mr. Newberg’s practice also involves all aspects of federal and state trial litigation. He received his Juris Doctorate and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration, majoring in finance and marketing, from the University of Miami.

Michelle Zeiger focuses her practice in defense of bodily injury, wrongful death, premises liability, product liability, auto accident, and catastrophic injury. She has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Emory University and a Juris Doctorate from the University Of Miami School Of Law in 2003.

Evelyn Cobos practices all aspects of state and federal civil litigation, both at the trial level and appellate level. Ms. Cobos will focus on complex commercial litigation, including first party property defense. Cobos graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor’s of Art in Political Science and a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University.

Geoffrey Cowen is a litigation associate with the firm, focusing in all aspects of complex commercial litigation, insurance defense and governmental liability. Mr. Cowen graduated from the University of Arizona’s Karl Eller School of Business, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and his Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center.

Matthew Sacharoff specializes in Labor & Employment, Complex Commercial Litigation, and General Civil Litigation. Mr. Sacharoff has represented clients in employment and labor disputes alleging discrimination, including sex/gender discrimination, disability claims, sexual harassment claims, national origin claims, marital status, and age and racial discrimination. He is a graduate from the University of Arizona, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics and later earned his Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University School of Law.

Howard Fox is an associate focused on the Environmental Law and Construction Litigation practice areas. Fox graduated from University of Delaware in 2006 with a Bachelor’s of Arts and later earned his Juris Doctorate from Florida State University College of Law.

The following associate joins Lydecker’s Orlando office:

Bryan Farinas is a civil litigation associate. He currently practices in the areas of Premises Liability, Automobile Negligence, Products Liability, and Insurance Defense. Mr. Farinas graduated from Florida International University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and later earned his Juris Doctorate from Barry University School of Law in Orlando.
