Professional Experience

Joshua R. Paikowsky is an associate in the firm’s Miami Office. Mr. Paikowsky’s practice involves all aspects of federal and state civil trial litigation with a primary focus in personal injury, governmental liability, and labor and employment litigation.

Mr. Paikowsky earned his J.D. at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While in law school, Mr. Paikowsky participated in both the State Attorney and Public Defender clinics, where he handled criminal cases from arraignment to trial. Additionally, Mr. Paikowsky was awarded with two book awards in the Criminal Prosecution Clinic and the Juvenile Rights and Re-Entry Seminar.
Upon graduating, Mr. Paikowsky served as an Assistant State Attorney at the Miami Dade State Attorney’s Office. During his time at the Miami Dade State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Paikowsky handled a variety of cases from misdemeanors and DUIS to First Degree Felonies, from intake up to trial. Mr. Paikowsky managed over two hundred cases at any given time. Additionally, Mr. Paikowsky served as the Assistant Chief of the Misdemeanor Crimes Unit. In this position, Mr. Paikowsky supervised and trained over fifty new Assistant State Attorneys assisting in areas of trial preparation, plea negotiation, and the navigation of complex legal issues. Furthermore, in this position Mr. Paikowsky handled high-profile media cases.
