LYDECKER SECURES FINAL SUMMARY JUDGMENT AND ENTITLEMENT TO ATTORNEY’S FEES IN SUPERMARKET SLIP AND FALL CASE
MIAMI, FLORIDA, September 1, 2026 – Lydecker attorneys Paola Garcia, Esq., Partner, and Andres Hidalgo, Esq., Associate, secured final summary judgment in favor of their client in a premises liability action filed in Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit.
The plaintiff alleged that she slipped and fell on liquid while shopping at a local supermarket. Lydecker moved for final summary judgment on behalf of the defendant.
Following a hearing on May 26, the court granted Lydecker’s Motion for Final Summary Judgment and determined that the defendant was entitled to recover reasonable attorney’s fees.
During the hearing, the court also expressed concern regarding surveillance footage of the incident. The footage appeared to show the plaintiff creating the alleged dangerous condition shortly before the reported fall. Based on the court’s observations, the judge stated that she was considering whether to recommend referring the matter to the State Attorney’s Office for review and possible criminal prosecution.
