Lydecker Founding Partner Pushes for Downtown Traffic Fixes
Richard J. Lydecker, founding partner of Lydecker, is a longtime advocate for improving downtown Miami – and tackling its growing traffic challenges. In his volunteer role as a member of the board of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), Lydecker has pushed specifically – and aggressively – to limit the frequency and times that the Brickell Avenue Drawbridge opens during the morning and eveningrush hours
Over the past several years, untimely and frequent bridge openings during rush hour (to let ships and pleasure craft navigate the Miami River below) have led to traffic gridlock throughout downtown Miami’s streets. Mr. Lydecker is quoted in the April 24 edition of the Miami Today newspaper regarding a recent DDA meeting with area stakeholders that could lead to fewer bridge openings during peak traffic times – and help alleviate downtown Miami traffic.
