Miguel Rodriguez


Professional Experience

Mr. Rodriguez is an associate in the firm’s Miami office. He focuses his practice on first-party property defense litigation, with an emphasis on bad faith litigation, fraud investigation, water damage claims, and windstorm coverage issues.  Prior to joining Lydecker, Mr. Rodriguez gained significant litigation and trial experience as an attorney with the Miami Dade Public Defender’s office where he successfully litigated hundreds of cases and also tried numerous cases on behalf of his clients.

Mr. Rodriguez was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and was raised in New York City where he earned his B.A. in English Literature from Fordham University.  He then went on to earn his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.  While at St. John’s, he worked as a student advocate with the Legal Aid Society through the Criminal Defense Clinic.  Through the Clinic, he represented indigent clients accused of misdemeanor and felony offenses in Queens County, New York.  Due to his contributions to the Clinic and the community, Mr. Rodriguez was awarded the St. Vincent DePaul Award.

Prior to his professional career as a lawyer, Mr. Rodriguez served in the United States Marine Corps.  He also worked as a Corporate Paralegal with a reputable Manhattan law firm for several years before and during law school.
