Professional Experience
Kerry McKeown is an Associate in the Orlando office, also working with the Tampa and Jacksonville offices. She represents clients all over the state in a wide range of civil litigation matters. She has experience with various issues of state and federal law, including breach of contract, commercial torts, premise liability, negligence, negligent security, product liability, and related causes of action. Comfortable in all areas of litigation, including drafting and responding to pleadings, taking and defending depositions and drafting and arguing dispositive motions, she is also experienced in appellate advocacy.
Earlier in her career, Kerry served as a senior judicial law clerk at the Fifth District Court of Appeal. As a senior law clerk, Kerry was responsible for researching and recommending the disposition of issues raised in civil appeals, including issues common to civil litigation such as jurisdiction, statutory interpretation, damages, and attorneys’ fees. This background in appellate law enables Kerry to approach each case with a big-picture perspective and enhances her ability to determine the most efficient and effective solution to help her clients.
