Professional Experience

Katarina Shonafelt is an associate in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Ms. Shonafelt’s practice involves all aspects of federal and state civil trial litigation. Prior to joining Lydecker, Ms. Shonafelt worked as an associate at a Los Angeles-based firm, where she played an integral role in the litigation of several high-profile mass tort cases.

Ms. Shonafelt graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor of Arts in May 2016. Subsequently, she earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, in May 2022. While completing her legal studies, Ms. Shonafelt served on the Executive Board of Loyola’s International and Comparative Law Journal. During her tenure, she was elected as a Senior Editor of the Journal’s Inter-American Court of Human Rights Project. In addition, she has published two case summaries highlighting pivotal verdicts rendered by the Inter-American Court.
