Since 1931 Lydecker Realty has been part of Rockland County and the Nyack-Piermont area, specializing in serving the real estate needs of the communities known as the River towns.  A family owned and operated insurance and real estate business, it began with our grandfather, Homer B. Lydecker, Sr. and grew to a partnership with his son Homer B. Lydecker, Jr, in 1949. in those days there were only a handful of offices and so companies covered large areas and sold all sorts of properties.   The 3rd generation of Lydeckers' began with Dale Lydecker in 1975.  Nyack was in the midst of a revitalization, along with the rest of Rockland County.  The influx of newcomers to the area brought prosperity, development, shopping malls, and more traffic!   Major county arteries were expanded to accomodate the NYC commuters.

The Lydecker family came to Nyack in the late 1600's.   They settled on farms and worked the land. one farm with a house and barn still standing is in Valley Cottage on Old Mill Road.   Another was on the hillside of Mountainview Avenue and Route 59.   Most of the area farms are now gone by way of development.   Buying and selling land was a part of our ancestry.   Like our family, our agents, mostly brokers, take pride in their work.   They live in the community and have a genuine interest in knowing what is happening locally and globally.
